Who or what are Eyecon?
Eyecon slots have only been around for about twenty years or so, but in that short time they have built up quite a reputation in the online casino industry. Best known to players for their strong portfolio of well over 75 great slot designs, they also provide some live dealer tables for casino sites, including roulette and Poker.
They are also a big name in online casino management systems, and it is probably this area which generates much of the company’s revenue. Known within the industry by the jargon “white label”, this basically means that Eyecon design bespoke, fully completed sites, which online casino operators can simply buy “off the shelf” in order to begin trading virtually immediately. They are particularly renowned for their online bingo designs.
The History & Development of Eyecon
The company was founded in Brisbane, Australia in 1997, where its headquarters were originally based. It has expanded significantly since these humble beginnings on the other side of the world however. They now also have a new base in the northern hemisphere too, having set up an outpost on the UK Channel Island of Guernsey to help look after European operations. This became the new company headquarters in 2015. This expansion and re-structuring has resulted in a re-organisation of the company’s workforce. The technical side of things is looked after by the office back home in Brisbane. The Aussies take care of designing new games and providing IT support. Meanwhile the Brits organise the business development, marketing and sales and customer relations side of things.
Eyecon slots and casino games can now be played across the globe, with many, if not most, of the UK’s casino sites providing Eyecon designs among their roster of games.
Whilst its renowned Business to Business (B2B) service may generate much of the company’s revenue, it is the games, particularly its slots, which interest the majority of players across the world. And it certainly has designed some excellent games. In fact, several of its titles have become essential constituents of any self-respecting online casino or online bingo site’s slot selection.
A Look at Some Eyecon Slots Titles
Perhaps its most famous and indeed iconic title is Temple of Isis. Originally released way back in 2003 (before any similarly named extremist organisations even existed), it was the company’s very first design. And it certainly wasn’t bad for starters, becoming an immediate smash hit in what was to become a crowded Egyptian themed genre. It has remained a popular game ever since, and continues to be one of the most frequently played Pharaonic themed slots.
But if Temple of Isis was a success, then the subsequent launch of Fluffy Favourites was a triumph. This game was launched in 2006 and immediately became one of the most popular games on hundreds of apple pay casino sites across the world. In the United Kingdom, it was particularly successful as a slot option on UK facing bingo sites. It has continued to be a very popular favourite amongst UK players ever since. This popularity received a further boost more recently when the sequel Fluffy Too was released in 2015.
Eyecon became and remains one of the most successful online slots designers in the world. Games like Fluffy Favourites, Irish Luck, Shaman’s Dream and Sugar Train can seem almost ever present on UK casino sites’ slot ranges – and for good reason. They remain amongst the most popular games amongst UK games players to this day. In fact it has been estimated that more than six billion spins are taken by players on Eyecon designed slots every year – with this number continuing to increase as more games are released.
Eyecon titles cover most of the slot industry’s most popular genres. In addition to their famed Egyptian themed output, the pink and fluffy end of things is looked after not just by their iconic Fluffy favourites, but also Twinkle and Unicorn Bliss too. But it’s not all pyramids and pink: Stampede and Jewel Journey provide some more adrenaline fuelled excitement. Meanwhile, oriental thrills are supplied by Cheng Gong, Wu-Shi Lion Dance and Xingyun Baozhu. More zany spins can be found with Beat The Bobbies and Sushi Cat. But with a total of around sixty different slot titles at the time of writing, with more new games on the way, there really is something for everyone in this range of entertaining designs.
In fact, Eyecon’s programme of new game production has received a recent boost with the company’s acquisition by industry giants Playtech. The buyout cost new owners Playtech £50 million in February 2017. In many ways this strategic move makes a lot of sense for both companies. Eyecon were already heavily involved in providing games for Playtech’s Virtue Fusion bingo network, and the injection of new investment will enable Eyecon to accelerate its pace new game development. They may even be brought into assist the design of Playtech’s new DC Superheroes slots, following the parent company’s new licencing deal with DC rights owners, Warner Brothers. The mouth-watering prospect of an Eyecon designed Superman or Batman slot would be well worth looking out for.
